We believe in supporting children in a range of activities.

Session Times

• Monday to Friday :

morning session : 9am – 12 noon

afternoon session: 12.10pm-3.10pm

all day (2 options): 9am-3.10pm OR 9am-2pm

How much does it cost?

Each hour at playgroup costs £4 – meaning a morning or afternoon session is £12 and all day sessions are £24 (if staying until 3.10pm) or £20 (if staying until 2pm). Time is not payable by the hourly unit.

When can my child attend?

The playgroup caters for up to 16 children per session from the age of 2 years and 5 months.  Subject to availability, you will have the opportunity to choose how many sessions, and what days your child attends.  The administrator coordinates the requirements of all fathers/ mothers/carers, term by term, and where ever possible aims to provide your first preference.

When can my child start?

If your child’s 3^rd birthday is between September and December then he/she will be able to start Playgroup at the beginning of the Autumn term, i.e. September and will attend for three terms.  If your child’s 3^rdbirthday falls between January and August then his/her start date will be at the beginning of the Spring term, i.e. January and attend two terms.  The Nursery at Bengeo Primary School has a one year intake in September so all Playgroup children leave us each year in July.

When will my child be eligible for a free early education place?

A child becomes eligible for a free place from 1 September, 1 January or 1 April following their third birthday.  Please take note that Herts County Council have a clear procedure which dictates when children are eligible for this. The administrator will apply for this funding on your behalf.

How to Apply

If you would like your child to be on the waiting list, either apply online or just follow these easy steps:

1. Collect or download an Application Form
2. Fill it in
3. Deliver to our Administrator – via post or simply drop it into the school office

Upon receipt of your application form, you will receive confirmation in writing that you are on the waiting list and that you will be contacted again at least two months before the term your child is due to start.  Then all you need to do is

1. Confirm that you definitely still want the place
2. Send off a £10 deposit
3. Let us know if you can make the Welcome meeting

Once this is all in place our Administrator will send you a copy of our Welcome Pack with everything and anything you need to know about Bengeo Playgroup.  Please note Liz (our Administrator) works term time only, Monday to Friday 9am till 5pm.  Details can be found on our Contact Page.  Thank You.
