Ofsted

The Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted) regulates and inspects childcare settings to achieve excellence in the care of children and young people, and in education and skills for learners of all ages. During an inspection Ofsted will be taking account of equality of our day to day work of policy-making, service delivery, employment practice and other functions. It will also want to see how we promote equality of opportunity, inclusion and provide an inclusive service for children.
Bengeo Playgroup’s last inspection was held in March 2012 – for a full report please visit http://www.ofsted.gov.uk/inspection-reports/find-inspection-report/provider/CARE/EY434108

Red Amber Green Rating
To comply with the government’s new Code of Practice that came into force in Spring 2011, Hertfordshire asked all its settings to complete a R.A.G. Categorisation Form (red amber green). Following a review of our application by Hertfordshire’s Early Years Team, we were awarded a GREEN rating.
A GREEN rating means that Bengeo Playgroup is providing high quality early years provision and making accurate reflections and evaluations of their practice. Well done to the staff and Committee for all their hard work that has resulted in this award.
This information has been recorded alongside our current Ofsted rating as part of the Hertfordshire quality profile that is compiled.
Hertfordshire Quality Standards (HQS)

Hertfordshire Quality Standards (HQS) is a county led scheme that ensures childcare providers are constantly improving and developing through a process of self-evaluation. Knowing that your child is safe, well looked-after and developing well with the support of their childcare provider gives you essential peace of mind.
Bengeo Playgroup has been successful in its application in 2004 and 2007. Our Audit of welfare learning and development requirements to begin the new online 2011 version has been submitted and approved. We are now able to continue – this will take approximately one year to 18 months and will involve input from staff, Committee, children and fathers/mothers/carers. Good luck everyone!
